Part I: Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science and Technical Subjects
This introductory module defines literacy in the disciplines. Learners will receive an overview of the connections between the North Carolina Essential Standards and the Common Core State Standards for Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science and Technical Subjects. They will then have guided practice examining, discussing, and creating learning activities for their students that integrate the North Carolina Essential Standards and the Common Core Literacy Standards for disciplines in grades 6–12. This module should take approximately 3 hours to complete.

Part II: Disciplinary Literacy
(Includes an arts-specific section to help arts teachers in Grades 6-12 to connect with the CCR Literacy Standards)
